Direct answer
Check fixed and mobile internet first, then check Starlink at the farm address when terrestrial coverage is weak or a separate path is valuable. Design outdoor distribution and power separately.
Farm internet and outdoor Wi-Fi components
- Primary backhaul: fibre, 5G or eligible satellite
- Outdoor point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links
- Weather-rated access points and enclosures
- UPS or solar power where engineered appropriately
- Secure camera and IoT segmentation
- Remote status monitoring
Maintain Starlink, Wi-Fi and power across the farm
Vegetation, new structures, heat and dust can change a previously good path or sky view. Include a maintenance and re-survey schedule for critical locations.
